Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager with a strong background in the gambling industry and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing development teams, coordinating frontend and backend scopes, and ensuring business priorities align with product increments. This role demands a flexible leader who can adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining team motivation and focus on delivering value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight:
- Oversee and coordinate several projects simultaneously;
- Lead the team to deliver high-quality gaming platform features and increments;
- Scope Management:
- Develop and manage a detailed schedule and teamwork plan.
- Define and break down sprint scopes for both frontend and backend teams, ensuring alignment with individual developers' workloads.
- Ensure all team members understand their priorities, contributions, and tasks within each sprint;
- Team Processes and Reporting:
- Adjust and maintain Agile processes (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) to suit the team’s needs.
- Calculate and manage team capacity for the next 3-5 sprints.
- Report on team performance, identifying and resolving blockers promptly;
- Task Prioritization and Increment Management:
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify task priorities and agree on deadlines;
- Collaborate with the product manager to understand each task’s contribution to the gaming platform;
- Exclude non-value-adding tasks from the scope while clearly communicating with initiators;
- Lifecycle Ownership:
- Manage tasks from inception to release, ensuring all functionality is delivered to production without losing track of tasks or bugs;
- Guarantee the team’s deliverables meet production readiness;
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Actively engage with stakeholders to define task descriptions and priorities;
- Balance business priorities with team capacity and maintain a motivated working environment;
- Team Engagement and Flexibility:
- Adapt to changing business priorities while keeping the team aligned and focused;
- Ensure team members understand the quarterly and sprint goals, fostering a sense of purpose;
- Support and Facilitation:
- Organize and mediate team meetings (planning, grooming, retrospectives, etc.);
- Assist team members with necessary resources such as accesses, documentation, descriptions, and designs;
- Cross-Functional Interaction:
- Collaborate closely with the development lead, product manager, and BA team to form and refine the scope in alignment with the roadmap, priorities, team’s capacity;
- Engage with department heads to manage expectations effectively;
- Work with other teams’ project managers to mitigate dependencies and actively resolve blockers.
Ideal profile for the position:
- Mandatory: At least 3+ years of experience in IT and gambling industry expertise;
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.);
- Proficiency in managing Jira and Confluence spaces;
- Experience with active dependency and blocker management;
- Proven ability to form and manage scopes for frontend and backend teams within a sprint;
- Familiarity with team velocity and capacity metrics and their appropriate application;
- Proficient English level;
- Attitude of humble commitment and ownership.
Will be a plus:
- Technical background, including developer experience;
- Strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and analytical thinking;
- Prediction and problem-solving skills.
